    Sunday 1st November

I can’t believe the half term holiday has gone already!  The week has flown by and we hardly did any of the things we planned to do.

We accompanied Peter to work in Derby on Thursday which was a nice trip.  He was working in the Westfield Centre which is a massive shopping mall.  I purchased some nice clothes for the girls and a new handbag for myself as my favourite bag is about to fall apart at the straps.  It’s so hard finding the right bag, my old one had 2 big compartments (one side for me, one side for the girls and their “keep me busy” things).  I struggled to find one, however Peter, Lauren and Martha came up trumps and found one for me!  Thank you!  The highlight of the trip was making an unplanned visit to my Nana’s in Doncaster on the way home.  We didn’t see Granda unfortunately, but will try to make some plans before Christmas to do so.

We had family “fireworks” today as well and I don’t mean the pretty ones you see in the sky.  Sadly, Peter encountered the situation from his mum that I face every time (undermining our/my role as parent).  I wasn’t there to witness the event, however by both Lauren and Peter’s account it was not pleasant as words were exchanged on both sides.  I am now in a quandary – I have tried to explain to Peter what has been happening for a while but didn’t seem to be getting through.  Now that he has experienced it first hand, I feel bad that he’s upset by it all.  Should I be feeling relieved that my experiences have been felt, or feel guilty that Peter had to go through it?  I just don’t know, all I do know is that I don’t like this feeling at all.

Anyway, he’s off to Scotland for the next week so I’ll be able to get the house in order (physically speaking!) and hopefully keep the girls occupied enough to fall asleep easily at bedtime!

Over Halloween, I watched Most Haunted Live and was pretty much disappointed with it (please don’t mock!).  There were ad breaks every 6-7 minutes, constant recaps from Paul Ross, repeated competition plugging and not as much investigating as I’d hoped for.  There were a few unexplained events which were interesting but not worth 8 nights of television viewing!!  In the end I recorded and fast forwarded through the most part.

The four of us thoroughly enjoyed the Halloween Trick or Treat Hunt which took place at Brimham Rocks to raise funds for Playgroup.  I’ve added some more photos to the October album.
